As we previously said, on September 11, 2019, The UK Government revealed a new immigration path for graduates. After completing their studies, international students will be eligible to work in the UK for two years through the Graduate Immigration Path.
Although the Graduate Immigration Route is not yet available, some additional information is here with us.
When would the Graduate Immigration Route be available?
The new post-study job route for graduates is introduced this summer of 2021, which means that any qualifying student who graduates in the summer of 2021 or later will be able to apply.
Who qualifies for the Graduate Immigration Pathway?
International students who have earned their degrees at or above the university level with a track record of compliance at the time of entry will be considered for the Path of Immigration. The Tier 4 visa is valid at the time of admission.
Any student who completes a degree-level course at a qualifying institution in the summer of 2021 or later will be qualified. It involves students who are already enrolled in classes. Many Tier 4 leave ends before the route is implemented will be ineligible and must apply to the current courses.
Visa Requirements – Graduate
A new application process for the Graduate Visa Route will be created, although it is not yet clear what this application will entail.
As stated above, any student who completes their studies in the summer of 2021 or later at a qualified facility will be eligible to take up the current post-graduate course. But it is impossible to specified what additional qualifications are available without existing Immigration Rules and Guidance.
The Graduate Immigration Route does not require applicants to have a sponsor.
The registration fee will be used, and applicants will be eligible to pay the immigration health surcharge. The exact cost of it has not been decided yet.
Can the Graduate Post-Study Work Route result in a job?
The path will not be extendable and will not contribute to the settlement. Graduates who find a suitable career, on the other hand, may be able to move into Tier 2 or may choose to explore other choices such as the innovator or start-up paths.
If the claimant has been in the UK for ten years of continuous lawful residency since going through the graduate immigration route, they will be entitled to apply for permanent leave to stay on this basis.
